This is now my third wedding at this amazing location! It’s just a fabulous place to have a wedding/reception. Erin+Michael took full advantage of the setting with a beautiful outdoor ceremony and an abundance of autumn decorations. Sweethearts since childhood, it was awesome to see them finally joined in marriage.

I had a really fun time taking Erin + Michael’s engagement portraits! I met them last winter when they saw the photos from my sister’s wedding at the historic Salisbury Train Depot. Since they are also getting married at the train depot and loved Jeni + Lee’s pictures they asked me to be their photographer as well! It was great to get to hang out with them a little bit and get to know them some more. We found a beautiful field of wildflowers and it was a perfect location for showcasing their love for each other. I can’t wait for their wedding in a few weeks!

Man, it’s been hard to sit on these! It’s always so hard waiting until after the wedding to share bridal portraits. It was especially hard this time because I’m super happy with how Vanessa’s turned out! When Vanessa sent me a picture of her dress I knew I wanted to go for a modern/elegant look to match the style of her dress. We accomplished that even better than I’d hoped. Vanessa was great in front of the camera…I love all the “fashion shoot” looks she was giving me! As you can see, she looked gorgeous. When her husband-to-be saw her on their wedding day for their First Look he couldn’t stop gushing about how great she looked. I hope these pictures do her justice!

Wow, what an amazing wedding! Katelyn+Bryan are a couple from my church. I remember meeting them as freshmen 4 years ago on a college ministry camping trip and instantly liking them. Their love for each other was so obvious even then. Fast forward 4 years and they’ve graduated, they’re getting married, and they asked me to be their photographer! Their outdoor wedding was held at the beautiful Westbend Vineyards near Winston-Salem, NC. I loved every bit of it! I’m so grateful to have been a part of their special day.

Vanessa+David were married in an outdoor ceremony at Providence Country Club on 9/10/11 (that’s a cool date!) The weather was perfect and the evening autumn light was gorgeous. As a guy I don’t usually get worked up about dresses but I thought Vanessa’s dress was really beautiful and was perfect for her. Not surprisingly David the groom was floored when he saw his bride-to-be during their “first look”. I’m so grateful that Vanessa+David allowed me to be a part of their special day! I so enjoyed every part of it…the beautiful location, the evening light, the amazing reception details, the stunning bride and groom, it was just an all-around great time. I was so glad my friend Vanessa Schrotenboer could come along as a second shooter, and we all had a good laugh that the bride and groom were David+Vanessa and the photographers were David+Vanessa!

I had the incredible privilege of second shooting with the amazingly talented Christopher Record recently! This was one of my favorite weddings ever. The ceremony and reception were held outside at the groom’s family farm. The property has been in the family for generations, which really gave the whole day a special feeling. You could just tell that the old house had seen countless weddings before. The ceremony site in a grove of cedar trees was gorgeous with the afternoon light behind Dana + Tom as they said their vows.
