Charlotte Engagement Photographer | Uptown | Danielle+Rob
Danielle+Rob’s uptown Charlotte engagement session was a ton of fun! I really enjoyed getting to spend some time with them and get to know them a bit. I particularly enjoyed chatting with Rob about our golf games! We went all over uptown getting lots of different looks and I’m really happy with how they turned out! Danielle+Rob did a great job being relaxed and having fun in front of the camera, and I think it really came through in the pictures how much they love and enjoy each other. I’m really looking forward to their wedding in October!

Charlotte Engagement Photographer | Pine Forest | Hannah+Chuck
I had such a great time shooting Hannah+Chuck’s engagement session in the woods! Chuck is old friend from high school and I hadn’t met Hannah yet, so it was really fun to catch up with him and to meet her for the first time. Their wedding will be in Colorado this summer and I can’t wait to go out there to be a part of it. Hannah+Chuck love the outdoors, so it was natural to go for a forest/woods/hiking look to their photos. It was a stunning spring morning with beautiful light, tall pine trees…perfect for an engagement session in the woods!

Charlotte Engagement Photographer | Sara+Mario
Sara+Mario are super fun and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in June! Sara’s roots led her to choose a rustic location for their engagement portraits. This field with the tall grass + the spring light made for an amazing setting. We incorporated a football since they met at a football game and Mario played at Appalachian State University, where they both attended school. They obviously love each other very much and they did a fantastic job being themselves in front of the camera!

Charlotte Wedding Photographer | Jillian+Andy
Jillian+Andy had a beautiful ceremony with a small group of family and friends at Jillian’s aunt’s house. It was a true celebration, and a refreshing reminder of what a wedding is really about. It was a really unique experience for me, and actually quite a challenge. We were confined to a 2000 square foot house the entire time with 50 guests and no natural light for portraits! But this is part of why you invest in a professional photographer for your wedding: the ability to take any situation and create beautiful, interesting photographs. Everybody wins!

Charlotte Wedding Photographer | 2011 Year In Review
As a person and as a photographer my goal is to be continually improving, pushing the limits of my comfort zone. In this spirit my hope is that each year will be better than the last one. When it comes to my photography 2011 definitely fits that bill! 2010 was all about locking in to my style. 2011 was all about locking in to the equipment I use to capture that style. Now that I’ve locked down my style and my tools I’m really excited for 2012! My 2011 weddings were really fun and really varied. I shot in churches, outside at a country club, outside at a vineyard, in a hotel, and at a train station. I’m so grateful to all of the couples that allowed me to be a part of their special day. I love looking back over all the amazing images from 2011 and remembering the great time we had. I hope you enjoy these as well!
Charlotte Wedding Photographer | Renaissance Hotel | Megan + Neil
Megan + Neil were married on 11/11/11 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Renaissance Hotel SouthPark. I was so excited to see them become husband and wife! It was obviously an emotional day for all involved. We had lots of time before the ceremony for portraits, and boy did we make good use of it! The fall colors were at their peak and the perfectly clear day added that warm autumn light. Mix those two together with a beautiful couple and you’ve got magic.
P.S. – Friends and Family: if you would like to order prints from Megan+Neil’s wedding follow this link and pre-register…if you do you’ll receive a $10 print credit!
