Ever have that feeling that you’re a witness to something truly special, and you need to just take a moment to pause and enjoy it? When Laura + Brent had their first look before the ceremony this feeling was overwhelming. They were engaged for a year and a half, separated by school in different cities, and you could just feel the frustration of waiting and separation melt away when Laura came up behind Brent and they shared their first moment together on their wedding day. Usually I’m buzzing around shooting continuously, but this time I had to just pause for a minute…step away…enjoy seeing them enjoy each other. It was epic! A beautiful day, a beautiful couple, a beautiful wedding…what more could you ask for?

Christine + Derek are a really cool couple and I really enjoyed our engagement session together! They are getting married in Michigan where they are both from, but they wanted me to capture their new lives and new home city before their big day. We had perfect weather and light as we strolled around Freedom Park and Uptown taking pictures. Here are a few of my personal favorites!

One of the things I love about wedding photography is the opportunity to meet new people and build new friendships. Kristen + Nick are a prime example of that blessing. I so enjoyed getting to know them a little bit, and so appreciated their willingness to do some fun shots with me! They actually eloped in January and asked me to just take some pictures of the family and friends reception they were holding at Maggiano’s. When I suggested we try some artistic portraits beforehand they were great sports and agreed right away! Their stunning good looks and the great location in NoDa helped us make some of the best images I’ve made so far. Then on to the food and fun of Maggiano’s where everyone had a great time. Kristen + Nick, thanks so much for giving me the chance to capture part of your lives!
Charlotte Wedding Photographer | Grace on Brevard | Leslie + John
Leslie + John’s wedding at Grace on Brevard was such a fun time! This was my first time working with Tijuana from Your Dream Day Planners and she put on a spectacular event. All of the details and decorations were so well done and I was so glad I got some time to shoot the room before everyone came in. It was a really fun and unique location because all of the guests came in and sat down at their tables for the ceremony. The weather was really beautiful, especially for February in the middle of one of our coldest winters ever! Leslie + John, I wish you all the best!

Asheville Wedding Photographer | Biltmore Estate Wine Cellar | Tracey + Conan
What an amazing day! Not only were we at the stunning Biltmore Estate, but Tracey scheduled two hours for us to take pictures before the ceremony! Even though it was freezing cold, Tracey, Conan, and their wedding party were all troopers and didn’t even complain as I led them all around in the cold. I hope they feel the results were worth it! The ceremony in the Wine Cellar was a beautiful traditional Irish ceremony in a very dramatic setting. After the ceremony, the entire group went on a tour of the winery followed by a wine tasting. All in all, it was a fabulous destination wedding at one of North Carolina’s most recognizable landmarks. Thanks Tracey + Conan for the opportunity to capture your wedding day!
