Time to post some of my landscape work! I’ll start with this image because it’s been one of my favorites from 2008. I took this back in May while my wife and I were on a fun trip to Charleston, SC. The weather had been clear and beautiful all day, but right before dinner some powerful storms moved through. Right as we left for dinner, the storms parted around Charleston proper, with a large system south of the city and a large system north of the city. In between the systems, the sun was able to peek through for about 15 minutes. I saw the perfect conditions for this shot forming as we took our seats at Fleet Landing Restaurant. My wife graciously allowed me to dash back to the car to grab my camera. The sun illuminating the pier and forming a rainbow, and the dark storm clouds behind, it was special light. I think the final image does the scene some justice.

Very nice shot. My wife can relate to the quick dash to the car for the camera. She’s learned to just live with it. And now my younger son is following in my footsteps.
