Wow, 2009 is here already! This will be my first full year of wedding photography and I’m very excited to see what lies ahead this year. So far it is starting off very well! I already have 3 events scheduled for 2009 and I’m in discussions with several others. I would love to keep expanding this year, but right now that is up in the air.

My day job is in IT with Wachovia, and with the Wells Fargo merger, I am unsure about my employment situation long-term. Having just started out in my career and buying and outfitting a house last year, we don’t have very much in savings. As a result, every little bit of extra money is going into savings right now to give us something to live off of if I lose my job, including all my photography income.

Hopefully I will find out soon that I have a permanent position with the new company. At that point I could revisit expanding the photography business. Until then, I will do the best job I possibly can with what I have. And most importantly, we will do our best to “commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act.” (Psalm 37:5)

What lies ahead in 2009? I don’t know. But the One who holds time in His hands does.
